This page contains a glossary of options used in Next Gen Planet Simulator and what they do.

File - This allows the user to access options relating to saving and creating new simulation files.
New - This creates a new simulation that overrides the current, pre-existing simulation without saving.
Save As - This saves the current simulation to a folder in the computer under a user-input name.
Save - This saves the current simulation to a save file, if one is already has already been defined.

Edit - This allows the user to access options relating to creating or destroying celestial bodies.
Add Celestial Body - This allows the user to create a new celestial object with a custom mass, velocity, and size setting. Only one such planet can be created in any simulation.
Add Satellite - This allows the user to create a new celestial object that orbits the currently-generated planet. Many of these celestial objects can be created.
Delete Celestial Body - This deletes the current simulated celestial object.
Duplicate - This creates a celestial satellite with the same characteristics as the selected celestial object.

View - This allows the user to access options relating to displaying or editing information relating to the celestial objects in the simulation.
Show Side Panel - This toggles the side panel which allows the user to edit the properties of the selected celestial object in real time.
Switch Celestial Body - This allows the user to select another celestial object in the simulation to focus on.

Inspection Mode - This allows the user to access a variety of informative text about the nature of planets and how they work, as well as a thermodynamics simulation of the simulated planet that runs in real time.

Speed - This controls the simulation speed. Larger values will cause the simulation to run faster. A pause button is included.

Zoom - This controls the distance of the camera from the planet.

Barycenter - This is the gravitational center of the simulated celestial object and its cumulative satellites.
